Celebrating 10 Years of Service to John Muir Alumni and Students

Please join us as we mark a major milestone for the John Muir High School Alumni Association, celebrating Ten Years of Service to the Alumni, School, Students, Administration and Faculty of our beloved Alma Mater. Join us as we gather to honor those who shared a vision to begin this journey to help make Muir better and to be a resource for the thousands of alumni that still care about the school.

During this 10-year time-frame, the Alumni Association has funded student SAT tests and awarded scholarships to seniors. We have participated in Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) events to help assure Muir’s continued accreditation; raised funds to purchase the electronic sign that announces school activities; and provided annual stipends for all faculty members. Additionally, we have provided funds to purchase uniforms and equipment for sports teams and cheer squads; underwritten team awards banquets; and raised funds to repair and purchase new equipment for the drum line. We also partner with Muir’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) in its efforts to improve the school.

To preserve the legacy of John Muir High School, the Alumni Association has funded a project to digitize all school yearbooks dating back to the very first yearbook in 1929. We maintain and continually expand the Muir Alumni Museum, which is one of only three in existence in California. We host the annual homecoming weekend celebrations for all alumni to participate. And, we honor those alumni who have made significant contributions to the school and their communities through our signature program, the Alumni Hall of Fame.

The Alumni Association has performed all of this with the financial support of member dues, donations and sponsorships from caring individuals and businesses. We want to continue to support the school, its students, all the programs of which we have been involved and we need you to be part of this effort. Join us as we celebrate our 10th year of service. Don’t miss this opportunity to reconnect with old friends; to meet the school’s current teachers and administrators; and to speak with community and political leaders during this evening of celebration.
